TREASURE OF MORGAN CREEK
Script written by Roger Vaughan Carr
Turkey thieves! A hunt for buried treasure! And a pet duck! They are only part of the story that takes place in Morgan Creek. It all begins when Bob, Nipper's best friend, finds a treasure map and the boys begin the search for gold! The only problem is the treasure is in a graveyard on the Daley property and the local kids think the woman who now lives there is a witch.
When Nipper's Dad find out they're searching for gold he tells them that when he was a kid they used turkeys. "Turkeys pick up alluvial gold", he tells Nipper and offers to get him a pet turkey to peck up gold while being fattened for Christmas. "If the turkey gets enough gold it will help to pay off the mortgage to the ban", he tells Nipper. But, as fate would have it, there are no turkeys to be had. Thieves have been stealing them. So, Nipper has to settle for a duck! He calls its Spector, short for prospector.
Soon all the children of Morgan Creek are talking about Nipper's gold duck and the promise of untold riches. The Dunn boys attempt to use chickens to make their fortune when there are no more ducks available - with hilarious results. But they do help to catch the turkey thieves.
When Nipper decides he doesn't want his duck Spector to be eaten for Christmas dinner, he runs away. The people of Morgan Creek mount a massive search to find Nipper and Spector lost in the countryside.
Rescue comes from an unlikely quarter. Ms Roberts, the woman living in the Daley cottage who the kids think is a witch, finds Nipper and Spector in the bush on Christmas morning and return them home in time for the family and the community to celebrate Christmas together.
